North Star Counseling is a mental health private practice owned by Adrean Cottle and located in the Steele Creek/southwest area of Charlotte, NC.

Adrean Cottle is a Licensed Professional Counselor with the North Carolina Board of Licensed Professional Counselors (10821) and South Carolina (8232). She is also a National Certified Counselor. She earned a M.Ed in Counseling and Development from Winthrop University. Adrean has 2 decades of experience in working with children, adolescents/teens and families. She enjoys helping people in all facets of life.

Adrean views each individual as a whole person with different yet connective parts. She believes that thoughts, emotions, words and behaviors are connected and that counseling should examine and address these connections to help you reach your full potential in life; therefore she has a Holistic/Integrative Approach to counseling. As a therapist, she believes that her role is to assist you on your path to positive mental health. Her primary theoretical orientation is Cognitive Behavior Therapy. She also utilizes the Person Centered Approach, Solution Focused Therapy, Play Therapy (with children) and others. The approaches and theories used are dependent on the client’s needs and are individualized.
